A warm 2011 vintage brings us a concentrated and powerful Pinot noir. On the nose, perfumed dark red fruits combine with earthy, cinnamon tones and a delicate smokiness from maturation in small French oak barrels. In the mouth, the wine is generous and full, showing bright red fruits and sleek tannins.
Syrah from the cool Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge brings white pepper, liquorice, and black cherries to the blend. The Mourvèdre contributes soft wild berry fruit and spice, softening out the blend. Moderate use of new oak supports fine tannins on the palate.
A strong nose of raspberry and fynbos with a hint of mint and violets. Very elegant wine with supple firm tannins and an underlying cherry fruit structure giving it a juicy but full finish. Drinking well now, but will benefit from a year to two bottle maturation.
Brick red wine with good colour. A nose of mulberries, red currant blackberry, cinnamon and with a hint of white pepper and aniseed . An aromatic spicy blend with supple, soft tannins for summer drinking. Serve slightly chilled. Enjoy now or keep up to 4 years.
A red blend of Pinotage and Petit Verdot grapes resulting in a wine which has an intensely dark blueish colour. A full bodied rich wine with supple soft tannins but which has a lively long finish. The nose has a hint of cinnamon, blueberries, fruit cake and wild heath on the nose.
Delicious, fruity and spicy wine made from the popular Spanish Variety. Soft expressions of plum and cherries, with a delicate hint of spice, and harmonious barrel integration. Top class Grenache is now synonymous with the Piekenierskloof. Will age 4 to 5 years.
