A warm 2011 vintage brings us a concentrated and powerful Pinot noir. On the nose, perfumed dark red fruits combine with earthy, cinnamon tones and a delicate smokiness from maturation in small French oak barrels. In the mouth, the wine is generous and full, showing bright red fruits and sleek tannins.
The wine shows red fruit, dark cherries with an underlying chalkiness evident from the soil these vines grow in. The fruit follows through on the elegant and well balanced palate. The wine's quality is complimented by the firm and concentrated tannin structure which will allow for further maturation in bottle.
Intense aromas of red cherry mingling with smoky tones of nutty French wood extraction, builds mouthwatering expectations. Medium bodied palate, but has the full elegance that is so very typical of Pinot Noir. Gently integrated tannins combine sublimely with the juicy red cherries, delivering a generous linger with fine complexity.
Freshly crushed raspberries, some sour cherries and red currants. Full of lively ripe fruit and spicy notes with notable earth driven layers of clay minerality. With patience, one is rewarded with wonderful, rich aromas of stewed fruit, leather and oak vanilla. With the use of new wood during fermentation, the underlying Pinot Noir character is slow to emerge. Once revealed, an intricate and clean Pinot Noir emerges with beautiful character.
Smooth and elegant with good minerality. A complex bouquet of raspberries, strawberries and apricot on the palate with dried peach on the finish. Serve with meat dishes like lamb or venison or fish like tuna or Norwegian salmon. The best temperature to serve the wine is between 12 and 14 ºC. Drink now or over the next 8-10 years
Ripe strawberry, Indian spice, plum, cardamom, thyme, rhubarb, red cherry and a touch of toasty cinnamon. The palate is elegant and soft, but alive and fresh with lingering creamy tannin. Flavours of strawberry, chocolate, dried garden herbs, ripe nectarine, warm spices and a touch of vanilla wash over your palate.
