Syrah from the cool Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge brings white pepper, liquorice, and black cherries to the blend. The Mourvèdre contributes soft wild berry fruit and spice, softening out the blend. Moderate use of new oak supports fine tannins on the palate.

A red blend of Pinotage and Petit Verdot grapes resulting in a wine which has an intensely dark blueish colour. A full bodied rich wine with supple soft tannins but which has a lively long finish. The nose has a hint of cinnamon, blueberries, fruit cake and wild heath on the nose.
In imagining The Abyssinian we took our cue from the masters of Burgendy and as expressed in the wines of Crozes-Hermitage icon, Alain Graillot – a Northern Rhone Ranger by domicile, but a Burgundian at heart, making wines that are luminous and bright with lower alcohol levels and a strong mineral core.
A Bordeaux blend that is dark ruby/plum in colour, attractive black cherry and blackcurrent scent. Medium bodied palate, full and rich in flavour as defined by a preponderance of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Good oak balance. Drink over the next decade.
Rich deep garnet red colour. Concentrated berry fruit flavours on the nose. A medium bodied (14.3% Alc) well integrated wine. Equal volumes of Merlot & Malbec (38%) gives vibrant fresh fruit flavours. 15% Cabernet Sauvignon & 9% Cabernet Franc impart elegance, structure and soft silky tannins.
The wine has a deep purple colour which leads to aromas of blackberries, mixed herbs and a hint of liquorice onthe nose. The firm, yet elegant tanninssupport the dark fruit that follow through on the pallet, which again showselegance in weight in the lengthy, dry finish.
