The wine has a deep purple colour which leads to aromas of blackberries, mixed herbs and a hint of liquorice onthe nose. The firm, yet elegant tanninssupport the dark fruit that follow through on the pallet, which again showselegance in weight in the lengthy, dry finish.

Selective Syrah grapes are hand-sorted and fermented in 5000L French oak barrels, 10% ferments whole bunch to allow a fine extraction of tannins. Racked to barrel to age for a further 10 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Picked in the early mornings to maintain the night temperature, the grapes were pre-chilled to 4 degrees before being de-stemmed and hand sorted, 10% of the grapes are not de-stemmed, but fermented whole bunch.
Initial punch downs are performed daily to extract colour and tannins, but when fermentation is underway, pump overs are used to allow for some aeration. Aged in first and second fill French oak barrels for 10 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Drinking well now, and will develop well for 8 years.
